The earlier someone seeks help for an eating disorder, the better the prognosis for a full recovery.
And that is why the eating disorders organisation Beat is encouraging anyone who is affected by an eating disorder to share their concerns with either a family member or a friend, and to seek help from their GP at the earliest possible opportunity.
There are three main categories of eating disorder: Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Eating Disorders Not Otherwise Specified (EDNOS) which includes Binge-Eating Disorder (BED).

Eating disorders awareness week runs from February 20–26 and this year the theme is titled break the silence and beat the illness.
